Modern Christianity (re: 21st century), like most other endeavors one might be confronted with in life, can, by some less-than-scrupulous people, be merely "frosting on the cake" and the "cake" is often something other than Christianity. The Disciple Ship holds that Christianity is supported most purely by the Holy Bible. The simplicity of this statement is by design. One might want to be wary of those who will tout the Bible as their source but follow such a claim with a flurry of caveats intended to qualify that choice. The ministries and church-bodies represented on this page follow our simple yet profound credo: "if it is not supportable by Scripture we do not subscribe."
You can have the utmost confidence in the ministries, agencies, and church-bodies described on this page. With this in mind, we urge you to follow the links (by clicking the image) to their websites and find out what they have to offer.
|LCMC is an association of congregations. We have a great respect for the reality that the church is where the people of God gather together around Word and Sacrament. The local congregation is where the church becomes a concrete reality for God's people.|
|The Lutheran church has been thought by many to be the sleeping giant of Christianity -- its laity unable to express publicly what they believe. As part of its commitment to evangelism, this Fall ILT is offering a course in our Word at Work lay education series to equip Lutherans with an understanding of apologetics for the Christian layman.|
|The Augustana District is a non-geographic district in Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ (LCMC) emphasizing classic Lutheran theology and providing services to congregations and pastors. |CALC's original purpose was (and still is) to offer a new home for congregations and clergy who were uncomfortable with liberal theological trends within the ELCIC - the opportunity to join a Canadian Lutheran ministry that is familiar, evangelical and conservative within the greater Lutheran family.|
|Grounded in the scripture and inspired by God’s Word, the LCSS embarks on making “Disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I (the LORD) have commanded” (Mathew 28:19-20). The LCSS engages on carrying out this great commission through vibrant evangelism; significant church planting and new church buildings; and preparing, equipping leaders and building and strengthening stewardship.|
